Balcony/Terrace SeaView Lift Renovation Project Renovated Parking Garage

Despite being one of the lesser-known areas for many visitors to Nice, the Libération area is one to watch. It is ideal for buyers looking for apartments for sale in Nice  close to everything the city has to offer, but with a reduced price tag.

Libération is defined as the area behind the train station, mainly around Avenue Malausséna and across to Boulevard Gambetta. This area is popular with French buyers as well as student renters attending the nearby science faculty.

A little off the beaten track, Libération is still very accessible from all areas of Nice thanks to the city’s tramline. Apartments for sale in the Libération quarter are all within easy reach of Nice’s principal train station, making travel to and from Nice very easy also.

The area has a down to earth charm and is well known for its daily market. The Marché Libération runs along Avenue Malausséna and is a favourite with local residents as it offers one of the best selections of in-season produce in Nice. Market stands tempt buyers with local fruits, vegetables and flowers as well as an excellent selection of fresh fish. The market takes place every morning except Monday.

The market aside, Libération is one of the few places in central Nice where there is a real local ambiance. No visit is complete without seeing the newly renovated Gare du Sud which was, historically, Nice’s main train station. The renovation works the city has commissioned will restore the building to its original beauty as well as rejuvenating the whole neighbourhood.

The project is due to be completed in 2017/18 and will bring more housing, activity (including a cinema, restaurants and a large underground car park) and interest to the Libération area.

The renewed interest in this once forgotten neighbourhood has brought it back on a level with other popular Niçois neighbourhoods, and property prices are following suit.
