The Quartier des Fleurs, or the area of the flowers as it is sweetly known, is a residential area of Nice, relatively undiscovered by foreign buyers up until recently. Second home-owners have, in recent years, begun to see the benefits and value for money apartments for sale which the Fleurs area can offer.

Located immediately west of Boulevard Gambetta and the Musiciens area, the Quartier des Fleurs also offers easy access to the Promenade des Anglais to the South and the train station to the North. To the West side of the Quartier des Fleurs is Boulevard François Grosso and the Marriot Hotel.

The proximity of many apartments for sale to the beach and the tranquil, residential ambiance mean that many believe this area is the next Quartier des Musiciens.

The buildings here are varied and you can take your pick; from the sublime Bourgeois of the Belle Epoque era to the modern residences built very recently. The Quartier des Fleurs is mainly populated by locals and is more residential than the Carré d’Or, therefore property prices and apartments for sale in the Fleurs are much more competitive.

Though mainly residential, this area is home to several local businesses including bakeries (for those fresh breakfast croissants), hairdressers and several good-sized supermarkets. The Quartier des Fleurs also offers good transport links. As well as being within walking distance of the train station and major bus routes, it is well situated for access to the ‘Voie Pierre Mathis’ the main dual carriageway connecting the East and West sides of Nice.

Some of the main streets in the area such as Avenue des Fleurs (continuation of Boulevard Victor Hugo) and Avenue des Orangers boast many magnificent and well-maintained buildings, surrounded by an abundance of trees and greenery. The Quartier des Fleurs is a pleasant and peaceful neighbourhood which suits what many buyers are looking for, an oasis of calm just outside the hustle and bustle of the Carré d’Or yet still located in Central Nice.
