Located in the Hotel Negresco this restaurant boasts exquisite surroundings with the walls displaying a collection of 16th-century paintings on leather canvasses. The menu includes some of the most sophisticated and creative dishes in Nice. Changing almost weekly, the menu includes turbot filet served with purée of broad beans, sun-dried tomatoes, and asparagus; roasted suckling lamb served with beignets of fresh vegetables and ricotta-stuffed ravioli. A perfect restaurant for a memorable and romantic evening.

This new Italian-Niçois restaurant with modern light décor is located at the start of the Cours Saleya. It has found a winning formula with great pizzas (from €11.50); baked lasagna; eggplant gnocchi, spaghetti with shellfish, tiny Ligurian calamari, beef with olives, chocolate melt just the classics, honestly prepared and quickly served with a smile. Some Italian wines are served. Reservations are not accepted so you must be turn up early or be prepared to wait.

Spread over two floors it has opted for an unusual decor that recreates the splendid interior of a centuries-old sailing ship. Situated on the newly renovated Place Garibaldi, this seafood restaurant has been in business since the 1950's. This fresh shellfish haven does not accept reservations and is often full by 7 so it's best to arrive early. One can expect to find a large variety of shellfish here including oyster, crabs, langoustines, large prawns flambéed in pastis; mussels, clams.... and much more.

This Parisian-style restaurant is located in the Old Town two steps from the Opera house. Here you can find a large variety of exotic gastronomy including raw artichoke salad, foie gras with muscat and fig chutney, roasted tuna with coriander and wok-fried vegetables; pan-fried prawns with ginger and sesame; crusty duck breast; créme brulée.

Located in the Port this "localino" bistro proposes traditional Italian vegetarian specialties. Chef Marco, a relative of Luciano Pavarotti, opened his restaurant in 1997 after cooking for many years in Rome. He serves refined cuisine at reasonable prices, using recipes from Italy's Piedmont region and updating them with no meat or fish. Don't be surprised with the lack of choice, as everyone is served the same meal.
