Le Port

Nice

Nice is both a summer resort, with seven kilometres of beach and the 'Promenade des Anglais', and a cosmopolitan city with year-round festivals and activities. From gastronomic French restaurants to the Carnival in February, there is something for everyone. The centre of Nice can be divided in several areas with individual characteristics that represent the full spectrum of what this city can offer. Most are within short walking distance from the beach and the Old Town.

The Promenade des Anglais runs along the seafront between the airport and the 'Chateau on the Hill'. Open views of the clear blue Mediterranean Sea and the superb quality of the apartments on offer make this one of the most in-demand area in Nice. Originally built by the English aristocracy, it has retained its allure and is now the most expensive and prestigious addresses in town.

Cimiez, Fabron and Mont Boron are the three hills surrounding Nice and each have their own unique appeal. Cimiez is upper-class Bourgeois living, with beautiful Belle Epoque buildings and Roman ruins with an annual Jazz Festival. Fabron is very family-friendly with secure residences and swimming pools, tennis courts and sea views. Mont Boron is the Hollywood Hills of Nice, where the likes of Elton John and international bankers keep luxury properties. Magnificent sea views and unrivalled privacy are the main attractions.

The Carre d'Or is one of the most chic areas in Nice, with designer shops and pampered poodles galore. Proximity to the beach and the atmosphere along the pedestrian area make this area the most popular, while the nearby Quartier Musiciens appeals to buyers looking for that dream apartment in a traditional French building. Just west of the Carre d'Or area is the Quartier des Fleurs, which is similar to the Quartier Musiciens, but closer to the beach and quieter? There is a vast range of architectural styles available in the Quartier des Fleurs, from modern residences to the original Belle Epoque.

The Port combines traditional Nicoise culture and luxury yachts and restaurants. On the Port front, properties with sea views command similar price tags to the Promenade des Anglais, while the back streets have local cuisine, shops and architecture. Central Nice is a predominantly French area, off the tourist trail but nonetheless appealing to those who want to be in the centre and have the opportunity to practice French.

Nice's historic Old Town is a medieval village characterised by narrow, winding streets and bustling with activity. Every second business is a restaurant in the Vieux Nice, with great quality local produce and Provencal recipes. At night, revellers flock to the many bars serving both French and international clientele until the early hours.

Whichever area of Nice you choose; glorious sunshine, gastronomic restaurants and the unique French quality of life are yours to be experienced. Let Chez Riviera guide you in finding your perfect property from which you can enjoy this wonderful city.
