Eze

The medieval village of Eze is one of the many hilltop villages found on the Côte d’Azur. From the first sight of this charming historic village, it’s not difficult to see why Eze is consistently voted one of the most beautiful villages in France

Eze village is perched majestically high on a dramatic cliff top that plunges 1400 feet into the Mediterranean below. Medieval Eze village is a winding maze of steep, cobbled streets which culminate in a viewpoint that is quite simply, awe-inspiring.

The view can be enjoyed from Eze’s botanic garden but also from one of the region’s finest restaurants at the heart of the village, the Chevre d’Or. Eze may be small, but it is a gourmet paradise, with no less than three Michelin starred restaurants. The village is an eclectic mix of quaint shops, art galleries, cafés and gastronomic restaurants.

There are two sides to the area defined as Eze; Eze village, on the hilltop and Eze Sur Mer, an exclusive neighbourhood by the beach with many luxury beachfront properties for sale.

Eze bord de mer is often considered a calmer alternative to other coastal communities as it is distanced from Eze village centre, which is set at altitude.

Property for sale in Eze bord de Mer is largely high-end, luxury villas. Being at sea level, villas and apartments for sale in Eze bord de mer have the added advantage of being very close to the beach. There are some exclusive, private beaches in Eze bord de Mer and you may well rub shoulders with some of the celebrity residents that call Eze home.

At altitude, luxury villas for sale close to Eze village may be a little further from the beach, but buyers are rewarded with some of the best views on the French Riviera. The quartier of Saint-Laurent d’Eze is a calm residential area which connects Eze-Sur-Mer with Cap d’Ail. It offers many provençal style villas for sale in a calm residential area, as well as the private domain Val des Costes.

Here you can find villas for sale with striking contemporary architecture. Summer temperatures can sometimes be a little less stifling around Eze village, while other Riviera towns such as Nice and Monaco remain accessible via the scenic Grande Corniche

The Church

Jardins Exotiques

Exotic plants and winding pathways make up Eze’s Jardin Exotic. Set among the ruins of the 12th Century fortress, the jardin is a peaceful place to sit awhile and admire the beauty of the surroundings. The real attraction, however, is the panoramic coastal view. The view extends from Italy to Saint Tropez and on certain clear days, lucky visitors can even make out Corsica in the distance.
