This year your ears will be delighted by the pleasurable strains of The Nice Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cannes Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Orchestra.
If live jazz is more your thing then be sure to head to the open-air jazz festival which runs from August 9th to August 12th. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Jardin de La Paix, situated in the centre of Nice, this four-day festival will captivate those with a penchant for chilled out melodies.
For something a little more extreme check out the Haute Route Alps Cyclosportive. Not the faint hearted, this marathon sees cyclists start out from Nice on 21st August and use their determined pedal power to traverse the French Alps. The intrepid travellers will cover 800 kilometres before reaching the finish line in Geneva. Take the opportunity to wave off the brave souls as they leave Nice and set out on the challenge of a lifetime.
There are plenty of other things to do and just wandering the winding streets is a great way to while away and hour or two. There are a number of regular markets so you can browse until your hearts content.
